It was a perfect weekend at Mugello for Mike with a top race right from the start and ended with a clear victory. Having celebrated his fifth victory of the season, for Michele, it is already time to think about next weekend’s appointment in the USA in the GT World Challenge America.

After the disappointment experienced during the first round of the Italian GT Endurance, raced on the Sicilian track of Pergusa, when a few minutes from the end of the race the Vincenzo Sospiri Racing #19 Huracàn was forced to give up the victory due to an issue, the redemption arrived with a clear victory last weekend in Mugello.

On the Tuscany track everything went in the best possible way, in qualifying Michele and his teammates achieved an excellent front row, alongside the couple in pole position, Basz-Hites-Michelotto.

At the start of the two-hour race, Nemoto took the lead, leaving no hope to his opponents, Liberati’s central stint ended with an advantage of over half a minute, so Mike was able to administer the advantage and did it as a champion , signing repetitive record laps and increasing the advantage over the other Lamborghini of the VSR, driven by Karol Basz.

Michele thus passed under the checkered flag with an gap of 43”, getting the fifth success of the season, after the four affirmations achieved in the GT World Challenge USA.

With the clear victory obtained, Michele and his teammates leave Mugello having equalized the scores in the overall standings, they are now tied at the top of the championship. The remaining two championship races are expected to be high in adrenaline.

Michele greeted the victory with particular enthusiasm: “I am particularly happy because in Pergusa I was burned by the victory that vanished a few minutes from the end. Here too we did everything in the best way possible, Yuki (Nemoto) made a perfect first stint, bringing the car to first position and everyone, team and teammates, did a great job to reach a well-deserved victory.
Now I can focus on the GT World Challenge race at Glen. Also in America we are doing a great job and I am looking forward to racing there next weekend, with the aim of doing well and trying to increase the number of victories this season.
