Another fantastic win for Michele Beretta in the International GT Open. At Spa-Francorchamps the italian driver has been again one of the best topping the weekend with the first place in Race 2.

The belgian soil has been positive for Michele Beretta, his team mate Frederik Schandorff and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of VSR.

In Race 1 Michele started very well from the third place, gaining one position and keeping it till the mandatory pit-stop where the #63 Lamborghini served the 15″ penalty due to the win of Paul Ricard’s round. Schandorrf  returned on track in the Top 5, crossing the finish line as fifth after a close fight with the other VSR Lamborghini driven by Moulin-Nemoto and the Inception Racing’s McLaren 720 S GT3.

In Race 2, the young italian driver, as happened at Paul Ricard, did a great job together his team mate and the team, managing a perfect strategy that gave them the victory. In the first part of the race, the #63 green Lamboghini was waiting, checking the situation, in anticipation of a very tight finish, in which the most fearsome rivals have to serve their penalties. Thus, in the second part of the race Michele’s car jumped to the lead (on lap 16), remaining there until the checkered flag.

The second win in four races confirms Michele among the favorites for the victory of the International GT Open 2021 in the Pro class.

In Race 1 we could have done bit better, however we gained valuable points for the championship and that’s okay. In Race 2 we knew that our opponents would take a penalty, as happened to us in Race 1, so we set up a waiting strategy in the first stint. Then, when we jumped in the first place, we just did our job without mistake to finale the win. The car is very good and the team always works well, this makes us optimistic also in view of the next race in Hungary, where it will be very hot.

Now two weeks off then the Hungaroring will wait the International GT Open for the third round of the season.
