After the not easy start of the championship, Michele Beretta and his team-mate Aaro Vainio managed to make an important step forward together with Team Rosberg during the third round of 2018 ADAC GT Masters. At the Red Bull Ring, in Austria, the Italian-Finnish duo – at the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 – managed to reduce the gap from the top positions despite the high competitiveness of the german series. After a not good qualifying (33rd place) for Race 1, Michele Beretta and Aaro Vainio ended 30th, still struggling with car setup; in Race 2, however, thanks also to the quick change of weather conditions, Beretta-Vaino were authors of an exceptional comeback that allowed them to close in fifteenth place after having recovered 19 positions.
Michele Beretta: “The car in Race 2 went very well and we managed to make a great race finishing in the points; these are important steps forward that give confidence to us and the team, not forgetting that the level of the ADAC GT Masters is one of the highest of GT series. We are happy with the result and aim to do even better in the next round at Nurburgring.”
While the ADAC GT Masters will now take a long break until the end of August (the fourth round is scheduled at Nurburgring on the weekend of 3-5 August), Michele Beretta is already focused on the main event of the year: the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The italian driver will be on track next July 3rd with Barwell Motorsport’s Huracan GT3 to prepare in the best way this demanding race together his team-mates Sandy Mitchell and Martin Kodric.
