The tough Nürburgring 24 Hours ended with an excellent result, eleventh place. After a fantastic qualifying, Mike’s crew made a comeback due to an accident.

The race on the Nordschleife confirmed itself to be one of the most difficult in the world due to the specificity of the track and the pitfalls it reserves without warning for the most eagerly awaited protagonists.

In qualifying Michele and his team mates, Riccardo Feller, Kim Luis Schramm and Markus Winkelhock drove the Audi R8 LMS Evo 2 into the top ten, in ninth place with a time of 8’11″708.

Right from the start, Michele and his team mates proved to be at the level of the best, always remaining in positions close to the podium, but an accident which took place in the fifth hour of the race slowed down the race of the R8 #16, up to that moment first between the Audi GTs. The accident that forced him to stop took place in one of the numerous lapping phases and forced him to abandon any ambition to conquer the podium and to bring the performance of the Frikadelli Racing team’s Ferrari 296 GT3, the winner, closer to the BMW M4 GT3 and the Mercedes AMG GT3.

The pit stop caused the loss of at least fifteen positions, forcing Michele and his team mates to attack for the rest of the race. Back on the track, the Scherer Sport PHX team’s Audi #16 made a spectacular recovery from the twenty-fifth position up to the final eleventh place.

Even in this edition, ran without rain, well over 250,000 spectators attended, according to estimates of the organization. Proof that seeing the fantastic Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Audis, Porsches and Mercedes GT versions on this unique track has an irresistible charm for the public and enthusiasts.
