Morning qualifying at the Nürburgring is bound to be influenced by weather conditions, and unfortunately the mythic track in the Eifel was covered in fog on Sunday morning. The lack of visibility caused the cancellation of the first two parts of the qualifying session, with the drivers of Q3 getting the task to qualify their cars as high as possible in what still were tricky conditions. However, in the only 20 minutes available, Grasser Racing trio formed by Michele Beretta, Andrea Piccini and Luca Stolz was able to place in front of all the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #19.

Andrea Piccini: “The conditions this morning were very difficult with the track so slippery, but not enough to use wet tires, a very delicate situation that have seen many cars in trouble. We were close to start from P10 if the Race Direction would decide to cancel the session, but luckily we will start in front of all. In free practice we saw that the race pace is good, not easy to keep the leadership but never give up!

The green light for the race is scheduled this afternoon at 14:45, with live streaming on www.blancpain-gt-series.com
