It’s time for the most important challenge of the year: after more than a month of break, the protagonists of Blancpain GT Series are coming back on the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, in Belgium , for the classic 24 Hours. Over 60 entries and 180 drivers are ready to drive on the 7.004 meters of the track that winds through the Ardenne forest, with numerous official crews at the start and thirteen brands representing the most iconic brands in the world.
To defend the colors of Lamborghini there will be also Michele Beretta: the young driver from Lecco, just back from the Silver Cup win at Le Castellet and from the tests carried out in Spa less than three weeks ago, is ready to go hunting for a new victory and important points in the championship; on Barwell Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Beretta will be joined by Sandy Mitchell, Martin Kodric and – for this event – by Rik Breukers.
Michele Beretta: “The test we completed here in Spa has been positive, especially from a race perspective. As we know, it will be essential to have a good balance of the car, especially with so much fuel on board and used tires, as well as in case of sudden weather changes that here is very often. The goal, as always, is to maximise the performance from car, team and crew and, realistically, we can aim for victory in the Silver Cup and improve the result obtained in the past years, trying to get closer to the Top 10; It will be an important race for the championship, we have already started our comeback at Le Castellet and we want to continue with another positive result also in Belgium.”
The long weekend in Belgium will start on Thursday 26th July with the first free practice (at 11.45) followed by prequalifications (18:25), qualifying (20:50) and night qualifications (22.30). On Friday, short warm-up session before seeing the best 30 cars in the superpole at 19:10. The 24 Hours will start on saturday afternoon at 16:30; the race can be followed entirely in live streaming on www.blancpain-gt-series.com while Eurosport will offer a coverage of the same of some hours.
