The 2019 adventure starts well in the ADAC GT Masters for Michele Beretta and Marco Mapelli, on the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO deployed by the Orange1 Grasser Racing team. In Oschersleben, the italian duo scored an excellent fifth place in Race 2 among thirty cars at the start (as well as second place of Junior standing for Beretta). Starting from the seventh place (after a qualify that had seen Mapelli in pole position up to a few minutes from the end with wet tarmac), thanks to an excellent race pace and a perfect strategy with an earlier pit stop, the two italian drivers were able to gain two positions. Michele restarted fifth, close to the fight for the podium; definitely faster than the two cars ahead him, Michele tried for over twenty minutes to overtake them without success due to the tricky circuit, ending the race few tenths far from the podium. Qualify 1 had instead seen Beretta end up on the wall following a puncture for a too aggressive cut on the kerb forcing him to start 29th on the grid in Race 1; under the chequered flag, the duo finished sixteenth after a great comeback.

Michele Beretta: “I am quite satisfied with the result achieved in Oscherseleben, in the end we got a good fifth position. Surely without the problem in qualify we could have fought for a similar or better result in Race 1. In fact today, both in Qualifying 2 and in Race 2, we have shown that we are there with the best and we can play for the podium. We will try again without a doubt in Most in twenty days, aware that the excellent performances shown in the tests were also confirmed in the race.
