The 2017 edition of Rolex Daytona 24 Hours will be remembered as one of the most cold and wet in history.
After the first few hours of dry race, the weather conditions are drastically changed on the american circuit after the sunset. Initially, the drivers have been forced to continue with slick tires under the light rain, then the thunderstorm forced the Race Direction to a long neutralization due to poor visibility and flooded track. At the sunrise the conditions improved, allowing the drivers to compete till the chequered flag.

Michele Beretta, after the positive results in practice and in qualifying, lived a uphill race on Lamborghini Huracan GT3 wheel: “It’s been a wonderful experience – says the italian driver just got back from Florida – The atmosphere is very different from european events thanks to the fans, that give you a great energy. Unfortunately our race has been marked by a couple of contacts in the beginning, that cost us several laps. After a long and difficult night due to bad weather conditions, in which I drove for almost six hours, we had to give up because of an electrical problem just four hours from the end. A real shame because we had a good race pace in all conditions, maybe not to fight for the victory in GTD, but doubtless to play for a result in the top positions. I hope to have another chance to race in America because I was fascinated by this event and by the environment of the american motorsport.
