Could be a winning day for Michele Beretta and Oregon Team in Rome after their great qualify session (where he got the pole position) but the italian driver has been forced to leave the dream due to a fuel pump issue on his Renault RS01. The italian driver, together his team mates Bontempelli and Ojavan, lost the leadership just after the half distance due to an issue with the fuel pump, that forced the team to replace it loosing 13 laps. A great shame for Beretta who shown an incredible race pace (always on 1’34”, hust few tenths slower than Fisichella’s Ferrari 458); after the unexpected stop, the 4Motorsport driver returned on track pushing hard, reducing the gap till the 4th final place.

Michele Beretta: “Too bad, really too bad for this technical problem that cut us off from any chance of victory. Losing 13 laps to replace the fuel pump, and something before due to power lack, deprived us of a deserved result. We had a good pace, and also my team mates drove very well but unfortunately the lucky was not with us. Anyway it has been a very positive experience that allowed me to know the fantastic Renault RS01 and to improve my experience about endurance races.
