After a difficult first part of the season, in the fourth round of 2018 ADAC GT Masters Michele Beretta (together with Aaro Vainio) and Team Rosberg conquered finally the first championship points of the season. The italian-finnish duo closed Race 1 on the famous Eifel track in ninth position, after the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #53 recovered eleven positions after the start from the twentieth box on the grid.

After a good start by Vainio, which was able to get some positions, it was the bearer of the 4Motorsport to take the steering wheel in the second half of the race, remaining very close to the first and managing to climb up to the Top 10, a position that held firm up to the checkered flag despite the pressure and attacks in the last laps by Luca Ludwig’s, all under the watchful eye of Keke Rosberg (patron of the team and former Formula 1 World Champion). A more than positive result that bodes well for the second qualifying (scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30) but especially for Race 2, which will start to follow at 13:00.

Michele Beretta: “I’m happy with today’s race because we have managed to maximize our potential. With 20 cars within half a second in qualifying, bringing home points is already an important result. We have reduced the gap from the first and proved to have a race pace that can allow us to fight for the points. Aaro was very good and a bit lucky in the early stages of the race, then we managed well the stages of the pit-stop and the last part of the race. The BOP continues to be against us and we lack engine power, but I think we have found a good basis in terms of setup. We still have to work to improve the tires degradation that, especially with today’s heat, has made the last stages of the race very difficult. Tomorrow it will be essential to make a good qualifying in order to aim for the points in Race 2.
